The Future of Food and Farming: Challenges and choices for global sustainability

The Final Report of the Foresight Global Food and Farming Futures Project from UK Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir John Beddington, on behalf of the Government. The Project highlights how the global food system is consuming the world’s natural resources at an unsustainable rate; failing the very poorest, with almost one billion of the least advantaged and most vulnerable people still suffering from hunger and malnutrition.

The Report also provides valuable insight into how our farming and food industry in the UK can contribute to the transition to a green economy by increasing sustainability, seizing opportunities and providing innovative solutions for the future.
